As a grade level, we believe that some of the most important things that your child can do outside of school is to play outside (no, not video games), eat with your family and do an extra curricular activity here and there. While we feel that academic practice is important, we intend for your children to do that hard work at school. Homework is not intended to be stressful. It is intended for your child to practice skills in a manner that is hopefully not overwhelming and to finish any work he/she is not completing due to lower focus and lower stamina in class. 1- Your child needs to read for 20 minutes each day. Why is daily reading important? The image below perfectly explains the importance of reading daily. Please make sure your child is reading regularly each and every day/night. Also, take the time to read aloud to your child as well. Modeling good reading habits is so important!
2- Your child may also be asked to practice Math and ELA skills online on MobyMax. 3- Finally, from time to time your child may be assigned an additional activity or project.
Note: Regular weekly homework will begin 3rd quarter in order to prepare students for fourth grade.
