These pics go back a bit to December. I wanted to share the fun and learning that we had on our learning experience day. Much thanks to all the parents who volunteered their time (and to TJ's brother). BIG thanks to Mrs. McKenna for coordinating everything--FOR BOTH CLASSES!!) Check out the images from the afternoon. Using text features effectively in reading and writing is part of our curriculum in third grade. Third graders have to be able to name text features, tell why the features are important, and what we learn from specific text features with in texts. Below are some images from one of our text feature lessons. We began this one by collaboratively comparing fiction and non-fiction texts. A seed packet was the perfect introduction to a variety a text features.
What a busy week it was last week prepping for the musical and then putting on three shows in one day. Even with all that hard work, it really was just so much fun!!! The third graders were super thrilled when the night show finally came.
Compliments to all of our speakers and all the third grade singers!! So proud of everyone!! |
